This Privacy Policy applies to all of the Websites owned and operated by the Upright Africa (“UPRIGHT AFRICA”) unless expressly noted otherwise.  UPRIGHT AFRICA is committed to respecting your privacy and recognizing your need for appropriate protection and management of personally identifiable information you share with us (the phrases “personally identifiable information” and “personal information” mean any information by which you, individually, can be identified, such as your name, address, telephone number, etc.).  The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform you about how we use such information, and the choices you have regarding your use of, and your ability to review and correct, your information.  Please be sure to read this entire Privacy Policy before using or submitting information to this site.

II. Your Consent and the Effective Date of any Changes

By using this site, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.  Whenever you submit information to this site, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of that information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.  If you do not agree to the terms, your sole remedy is to not use the website.

UPRIGHT AFRICA reserves the right to modify or supplement this Privacy Policy at any time without any prior notice to you.  Please regularly review this Privacy Policy, and especially before you provide any personally identifiable information, to keep up to date with any changes that may affect your use of the UPRIGHT AFRICA Website.  Your continued use of the UPRIGHT AFRICA Website once the revised Privacy Policy has been posted on the site affirms your agreement to such changes.

III.  A Special Notice About Children

This site is not intended for children under the age of 18.  We will not knowingly collect personally identifiable information via this site from visitors in this age group.  We encourage parents to talk to their children about use of the internet.

IV. Passive Information Collection

As you navigate through this site, certain anonymous information can be passively collected (that is gathered without your actively providing the information) using various technologies such as cookies, Internet tags or web beacons, and navigational data collection (log files, server logs, clickstream).  Your Internet browser automatically transmits to this site some of this anonymous information, such as the URL of the Website you just came from and the Internet Protocol (IP) address and the browser version your computer is currently using.  This site may also collect anonymous information from your computer through cookies and Internet tags or web beacons.

Cookies enhance our ability to serve you – a cookie can be accessed by the Website when you revisit. We use two types of cookies: session cookies and persistent cookies. Session cookies terminate shortly after you terminate your internet session. Persistent cookies are stored on your hard drive until they expire or are deleted. Both types of cookies help provide an enhanced user experience since they recall your use of the Internet and our services and your password. We understand that not everyone wants to permit the use of cookies. You may set your browser to notify you when a cookie is sent or to refuse cookies altogether, but certain features of this site might not work without cookies.

This site may use and combine passively collected anonymous information to provide better service to site visitors, customize the site based on visitor preferences, compile and analyze statistics and trends, and otherwise administer and improve the site for  use.

V. Collection and Use of Personal Information

In certain sections of the Website you may be asked to provide us with personal information, including your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and other identifying information.  If you choose to donate, we will collect additional personal information up to and including your billing address, shipping address, and a credit card number and expiration date in order to process your submission properly; and, such information will be shared with applicable third parties (i.e, payment processing providers), so they may process the transaction accordingly.

Your personal information enables us to provide you with the information you have requested, with information regarding the status of your transactions, and with information regarding future opportunities that may suit your particular interests.

UPRIGHT AFRICA supports the development and implementation of a standard “do not track” browser feature that provides customers with control over the collection and use of information about their web-browsing activities. Once a standardized “do not track” feature is released, UPRIGHT AFRICA intends to adhere to the browser settings accordingly.

Except as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy, it is UPRIGHT AFRICA’s policy not to distribute to third parties any personally identifiable information about you without your consent (usually communicated through an “opt-out” notification or mechanism).  We may aggregate certain personally identifiable information – meaning that the information from many UPRIGHT AFRICA Website users is grouped together in a way that does not disclose the personal information of any particular user – without your consent.

UPRIGHT AFRICA may release your personal information to third parties:  (a) performing functions on behalf of UPRIGHT AFRICA as previously described; (b) in order to comply with a valid legal requirement such as in compliance with any law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena or court order; or (c) in special cases when we believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent or take action regarding any illegal or unauthorized activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person or violations of our Terms of Use Policy.

UPRIGHT AFRICA may transfer the personal information collected under this Privacy Policy to a third party in the event of a transfer of ownership such as a merger, acquisition or any form of sale.

VI. Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.  UPRIGHT AFRICA contracts with a third party to maintain and host the Website and with third party secure payment processing providers.  Therefore, any information you submit, including personal information, will be placed and stored on a computer server maintained by these third party hosts.  The third parties have implemented technology and security features and strict policy guidelines to safeguard the privacy of your personal information from unauthorized access or improper use.
